CANNOCK CHASE ORPHEUS MALE CHOIR.
This Internationally renowned choir has had an exciting twelve months. It has given a series of successful concerts raising money for various well known charities. Their disciplined versatile singing style, the extensive range of its repertoire of songs and music miscellany, has drawn much praise from serious music critics, fans and audiences.
Training and rehersals continue at a pace that encourages all of the choir. This choir responds well to the valuable instruction and direction proving that singing is a great release and uplifts the individual spirit of each and every choirister.
Our music team are without equal. It is a great privilege for the choir to have three such outstanding musicians that have passion for male choirs and a loyalty for Chase Orpheus
Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir been in existence for 44 years and its position amongst the top male voice choirs in the UK / Europe and beyond is accepted by the lovers of choral singing. The choir amalgamated from 5 local miners' colliery choirs set up and formed in 1951.
Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir was inaugurated in 1968, and has been thrilling audiences ever since. Its success has been born from the sheer dedication, energy and professionalism of the founders and stalwarts that have served the choir from its origins through to the present day.
Over the decades the choir has taken part in choral competitions and eisteddfods, winning major awards for its performances in the UK, Europe, and Mediterranean. It has many notable achievements.
There have been many invitations for the choir to be involved with radio and television broadcasts, show business events, appearing with many top artists and entertainers, big bands, brass bands and orchestras.
During 2011 and beyond, the choir will be performing concerts that will prove that they are the foremost Midlands leading male voice choir. The choir has grown, moved on, but audiences will still recognise its special superb sounds and music. This choir entertains.
