After a successful start with 2010 concerts, the original choir received plaudits that enthused everyone, prompting the old and new members to integrate and gel in the many rehearsals to form the new choir. This period has indeed been a revelation in what the “Music Team” and choir have achieved. Below is a selection of acclaim.

•“The quality of the choir and their range was outstanding”
•“I’ve been inspired by the singing of this choir. They were tremendous”
•“What is it that makes your choir special”? A great evening”
•“Your Music Director, Conductors and Musicians are to be congratulated for their contribution was sparkling, with the piano playing absolutely brilliant”

A highlight of our 2010 concert programme was the choir helping raise £5,000 for "Help for Heroes" in one performance!

Our 2012 concert dates are now available to view and book tickets for. Thank you for your support in 2011.

Now with 74 singing members the choir has created a strong base to give performances of quality, producing exceptional sounds, harmony, that will be a joy to listen to.

Just a few snippets of happenings and antics that makes the “Music Team” and their work from time to time a little complex and nerve wracking, but interesting and certainly sprinkled with humour.

We have now completed our 2011 concerts with the choir giving some great performances that audiences really loved and enjoyed. Our Musical Director has congratulated and enthused the choir with his comments that at two concerts we were “brilliant”. Praise Indeed.

The choir did a concert in Blackpool, staying the weekend and having a good social time. What was embarrassing was that the entire choir got - off the two “charabanc “coaches carrying their buckets and spades. The coaches, had banner signs telling everyone that we were the Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir. Tut! Tut!

As you can well imagine we have been busy with learning new songs and developing concert programmes for new bookings. There have been movements of choristers going into different sections to balance and improve sounds. In addition, we have seen the return of a baritone who is also a soloist and this will add to our versatility. We have had a new voice added into the Bass group and we welcome his arrival from a choir that unfortunately closed down.

Currently, we are experimenting, re-jigging with group positions of the four sectors tenor, second tenor, baritone, bass trying to improve the quality and styles of sounds, as well as stage management presentation.
